V.A. Glebova House

This is among the best detached houses in the Moscow Empire style. It was built in 1826-1827 by F. Shestakov for V. A. Glebova. It features a charming balcony with openwork metal railing in the center of the facade, and a very interesting fresco with Masonic symbols adorning the main interior staircase. In 1896 the house was purchased by the Buryshkin merchant family, and in 1961 it became home to the archive of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
