Naryshkin Estate

Address : Gogolevsky bulvar 10-12

The estate dates to the 1790s. Erected on a stone 17th-century structure serving as its foundation, the manor house is decorated with pilasters and moulding. The service building and wing were added on the eastern side at about the same time, and a stone wall was built between the main house and the wing. After 1812 a portico with six Corinthian columns was added to the central building. In the 1820s the estate belonged to Colonel M. M. Naryshkin, a prominent Moscow Decembrist. After reconstruction in the 1830s the house passed to the Appanage Administration, and I. I. Maslov, the head of the Appanage Office, lived here. He was close to Moscow literary and musical circles, and I. S.Turgenev, A. N. Ostrovsky, A. A. Fet, N. G. Rubinstein and other Russian cultural figures were frequent guests.
