Mashkov House

Address : Maly Znamensky pereulok 7

This tall monumental building dates from the mid-18th century and may have been designed by the famous architect V.I. Bazhenov for the widow of Court Steward P. Mashkov.  It rests on an old 16th or 17th century stone dwelling.  In the first half of the 19th century it belonged to the Prices Svyatopolk-Chetvertinsky.  In the late 19th century the street off which the house stands was built up with commercial structures.
