The First Men's Secondary School (Russian Language Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences)

The gymnasium, or secondary school, was part of the First Moscow Secondary School. Dating from the late 18th century, it consists of a corner two-story building and the main three-story building with a portico of six smooth pilasters in the center of the facade. In the latter half of the 19th century eclectic decor was added to the main building.
